Modern Slavery Statement
Gymletics Limited is not legally required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement. The duty under Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 applies to businesses with a global turnover above £36 million, and we are below that threshold.
We publish this statement anyway, because the absence of a legal obligation doesn't change what we owe to the people who make our clothes.
About Us
Small scale. Personal accountability.
Gymletics is a small UK activewear brand, founded in 2018 and based in Staffordshire. We design our products in the UK and manufacture them in China through a small group of partner factories.
Our supply chain is deliberately narrow: we currently work with between three and five direct suppliers, which makes it possible for the founder to know each factory personally rather than relying entirely on paperwork.
Our Policies
Built on recognised international standards.
Every supplier we work with is held to our Ethical Trading Policy, which is built on the UK Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code and International Labour Organisation (ILO) standards.
- Freedom of employment
- Safe working conditions
- No child labour
- Living wages
- Reasonable working hours
- Freedom of association
- Prohibition on harsh or inhumane treatment
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking in any part of our supply chain.
How We Monitor Our Supply Chain
Three layers of verification.
A small brand can do things that larger brands often can't. We treat personal oversight as one of our most important responsibilities.
Annual Independent Audits
Each supplier completes an annual independent audit against our Ethical Trading Policy. Audit reports are reviewed by Gymletics before we continue placing orders.
In-Person Factory Visits
Since 2020, our founder has personally visited our manufacturing partners every year. These visits cover working conditions, worker wellbeing, and operational practices.
Direct Relationships
Because our supplier base is small, we maintain regular communication with factory management between visits. This gives us early sight of any concerns.
Staff Training
Awareness is the first defence.
All Gymletics staff complete annual modern slavery awareness training delivered by iHasco, a UK provider of workplace compliance training.
The training covers how to recognise the signs of modern slavery, what the Modern Slavery Act requires, and how to raise concerns internally or externally.
What We're Working On
This statement is reviewed and republished each year.
Our current focus is:
-
Maintaining In-Person Visits
Continuing our annual factory visit programme as we grow, ensuring personal oversight scales with the business.
-
Strengthening Documentation
Better documentation of audit findings and corrective actions for full traceability.
-
Additional Independent Reviews
Considering whether to commission additional independent reviews as our supplier base expands.
Reporting Concerns
If you have concerns about modern slavery, forced labour, or working conditions anywhere in our supply chain, please contact us directly. We take every report seriously and will investigate.
